What is the most popular destination and most accessible area of the park?

The most accessible and popular area of the Grand Canyon is the South Rim. This area is open year round and nearly 5 million tourists visit it every year. The most accessible and popular part of the park for tourists is the South Rim, but there is also a North Rim area to visit only10 miles across the canyon. The North Rim sits an average of 8,000 feet above sea level and is open from May 15 to October 15 each year.

If I'm exploring the canyon is there a way to get across to the other side of the canyon?

If you plan on hiking across the Grand Canyon, there is a narrow foot bridge that crosses the Colorado River via the South Kaibab Trail. By car, the only crossing point is on the Navajo Bridge, located near Page, Arizona.
