The Grand Canyon is among the most visited natural wonders in North America, attracting an average of 5 million visitors each year. Canyon Plaza Resort Grand Canyon is located just one mile from the park's south entrance. The Grand Canyon is cut by the Colorado River and stretches 277 miles. It is roughly 1 mile deep and sits 7000 feet above sea level.

North Rim

The most accessible and popular part of the park for tourists is the South Rim, but there is also a North Rim area to visit only10 miles across the canyon. The North Rim sits an average of 8,000 feet above sea level and is open from May 15 to October 15 each year.

Inner Canyon

If you’re looking to backpack and hike you can visit the Inner Canyon area. This hard to access area encompasses every activity below the rim, like hiking, river rafting, and mule rides.

    If you plan on hiking across the Grand Canyon, there is a narrow foot bridge that crosses the Colorado River via the South Kaibab Trail. By car, the only crossing point is on the Navajo Bridge, located near Page, Arizona.
